I have a major announcement.

I'm just talking about posting pics here and on Flicker. If I need to print ,which I seldom do ,then it wouldn't be a good idea.

We live in a frameless world, except for thought, and for the most part the frame seems to be getting smaller and perhaps jaggedly round.

And what about vertical images, Blacktop? Do you think you'd still like the ratio?

The ratio is known. :) Golden ratio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Was a big deal to Euclid, Plato, Pythagoras, da Vinci, etc, etc, etc. Called the Divine Proportion. The Parthenon, etc.

"Biologists, artists, musicians, historians, architects, psychologists, and even mystics have pondered and debated the basis of its ubiquity and appeal. In fact, it is probably fair to say that the Golden Ratio has inspired thinkers of all disciplines like no other number in the history of mathematics."

For example, Amazon.com: golden ratio

16:9 is so close, yet so far. :) It is closer to 16:10. In time between 4:3 and 16:9, wide screen monitors were 16:10.
Being a building contractor we use it all the time as far as houses, additions, garages in their relationship to the structure themselves and or what the structure is being built off from.

I've long had an affinity toward the golden rectangle, myself. It's the most common aspect ratio for me to crop a picture into, when I'm working with the picture under a program that gives me that much control. It's a disappointment to me that it's not one of the options under the “Trim” feature in my D3200.

1 × (0.5 + √1.25) — Approximately 16×10
