Lightweight and surprisingly capable of brilliant results in bright light. The only weakness I find is anything over ISO 800 gets pretty yukky fast.  From my experience your wife will become very serious about her images once she sees the early results! Those lenses are sharp, sharp, sharp and of course the D300 is pro gear. The MB-D10 is fantastic for handling but adds a lot of weight.
