Huelight Color Profiles for Adobe Camera RAW/Lightroom

Something I was recently told about and have been playing with lately are these Huelight Color Profiles from Color Fidelity (dot) com. The standard-issue profiles that come with Camera RAW are Camera Standard, Adobe Standard, Vivid, Landscape, Portrait, etc. but the Huelight profile will add three new ones to that drop-down menu: Huelight (Low), Huelight (Medium) and Huelight (High). These are profiles, not presets, so your adjustment sliders are not affected by using them. The effect is subtle, even at the highest setting, but I'm finding I getting better skin tones and more balanced color by using them. Huelight Profiles are camera specific and are $15 a pop. They are compatible with Adobe Camera RAW and Lightroom.

There's a big thread (14 pages) about them on Mu-43 dot com (a site dedicated to micro-four-third photography) with before and after comparison photos and plenty of general discussion if you're interested in reading more about them. I've never seen the Huelight Profiles being discussed over here so I thought I'd post this up.

Will look at these later, but if you're interested in messing with stuff like this the Adobe DNG Profile Editor is a cool tool to do it with.

Most profiles are body specific, so I'm assuming these are as well. I'm wondering how easy they would be to reverse engineer or mimic? If they're just "better" profiles than what Adobe provides, that's something that I'm trying to get to the bottom if in this thread.

I'm following that thread with some interest and thought about making my previous post IN that thread but didn't want to dilute the conversation going on there; this topic seemed relevant, but too much of a tangent.

The profiles are body specific but I wouldn't know how to go a about reverse engineering them.

Thanks for that.

If you have a custom profile I would assume you can open it in the DNG Editor - or at least IMO you should be able to do that. Alas, I just tried to do it with the IR profiles I created and it won't open a previously created profile. BUT, if you save the "recipe" used to create the profile then you can open that. So never mind, you can't reverse engineer it - at least not with that tool.
