Message: <blockquote data-quote="Dawg Pics" data-source="post: 619241" data-attributes="member: 26505">I sort of inherited Nikon.  My Dad sold me his D100 when he was downsizing, which was several years ago.  I really didn't know anything about the camera except that it was well taken care of.  It was a safe first purchase, and I didn't have to research it.  When the D100 pooped out, he gave me a practically new D80 that he didn't need.  He used it as a back-up when he was shooting weddings.   Then shortly after that he gave me the D300.  I prefer the D300.  He retired from photography because his health had gotten bad. At 85 years old he is now pretty much wheelchair bound.  However, he has a D90 that he loves and will never part with.  He also has a D300 that he fiddles around with now and then.</blockquote>
