How Can I Sort Out Photos into Folders by Keypress, Please?

Hi Guys,

I've been away a while as the pc base unit blew up and I've only just managed to get it fixed and running again.

Just a quick query, please - I have a bunch of photos which I'd like to put into different folders just by pressing a number or a key. (No porn jokes, please.)

Does such software exist, please?

Many thanks
Kevin

Move a file to a new location with the press of a single key? I'd be amazed if such an app existed.

You could use things like Ctrl+Click to select multiple, individual files; or Click & Drag, then right-click the selection and use "Send To" but that's hardly what you're asking for.

Adobe Bridge would let you sort and filter based on 1-5 stars and then move en masse... That's how I cull but, again, not what you're asking for; just a viable option.

I have done a search before, but I thought I would not be lazy and do another search....

I've found this which seems to fit the bill. I've downloaded it and I will use it now to see if it works.

Thanks to those who read and those who replied. I do appreciate the support in this forum.

(e2a: java needs installing which is apparently incompatible with Google chrome... I'm installing java anyway to see what happens... will post an update at the end.)

(e2a: well, this looks like a bust. I did all the programme wanted and it still didn't work.... pity, really.)

Looks like it's going to be a boring process...

You can do what you want with Lightroom... although with one or two more than a single keystroke... It has a full cataloguing system... stars, numbers, keywords...

Do you know, I'd forgotten about LightRoom! Thanks for that! I've been away from my computer for too long. I think I'm going to (literally) start from scratch and re-familiarise myself with what I've already got before I start looking elsewhere.

Ermmm... I'm going to examine very programme I have on my photography computer before I go any further. I'll be back!

Major thanks for that suggestion, FredK.
