[QUOTE="weebee, post: 513680, member: 17696"] Too bad I live so far away I could help you. I'm a electrician, been chasing sparks for over 30 years. You really should get your circuit breakers marked by location. It's easy to do. Just plug a light in a outlet you want to identify and turn the breakers off one at a time until the light goes out. Or, you can get one of these current/voltage detectors. Cost around 20.00 and work great to check if the power is off before working on something that can't be unplugged. ALWAYS TEST THIS DETECTOR ON A KNOWN LIVE SOURCE FIRST!! My favorite trick is if I'm by myself and need to find the right breaker to a outlet I want to turn off. I plug a radio into it and turn it up so I can hear it at the breaker panel. No tunes, power is off. Just make sure it isn't being powered by batteries as well. When I was doing residential work I always had a radio in my truck for this purpose.
