I have a D7100 and D7000. Both were sent back to Nikon for focus issues while under warranty. I have 2 pics to show the vertical one is the d7100 and the horizontal one is D7000. I have increased the exposure (over exposing it on purpose) to clearly show what i am talking about when i refer to vertical lines (black lines) when shooting pictures at night. If I lower the exposure i can make the lines disappear, but that is not what i want do to loss of detail. With the other camera D7000 i did the same raising the exposure to show how it does not have any lines through it, just that it is over exposed. So my question is, is my D7100 camera sensor the problem and any thoughts on if it is worth fixing or a good place to have it fixed. Third option is use camera for trade in towards another. In daylight the camera shoots great pics with no problems it is only when the subject occurs in low light or night. I hve had no luck what so ever in editing the lines out except to darken the photos till they disappear. Many times when set to develop the screen shows them OK but the developed photo shows the lines clearly. Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.
