Hey everyone, I go by Zombie and I'm getting into photography and would be very grateful if anyone might could get me started on the right track. I've been drooling over the Nikon 1 J1 with the upgraded lens and was wondering if it is a good starting point for a new camera. Thanks

The Nikon 1 is a good camera it would probably be a good beginner camera...me I bought a used D5000 from KEH for my first DSLR and it serves me well.

So will this be your first serious camera? What type of shooting do you plan to do?

Yeah it'll be my first serious camera and you are gonna laugh but I'm going to be taking pictures of old cemetaries and old gothic style buildings and such from a artistic point of view. And also be able to just use it as a pns camera too that I can take on vacations.
