Hey there people

My name is Dennis. Over the past couple years I've become more and more interested in photography. Lately, I've been getting a real itch to purchase a DSLR camera to start off as a beginner but am so confused at what to get. I've had a coolpix and a canon, both pocket cameras, in the past and want to step it up now. Now that I have a kid, I need something that has a much faster shutter speed and allows me to take better pics. Hopefully I will find the help and tips needed on here.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I've been looking at the d3100 and the d3200. Probably wanna stay around 300 to 400 to start off with.

With that budget you might want to check out the Refurbished cameras. This place has good prices and they offer a 1 year warranty on the refurbished cameras.

The reviews are pretty decent and it seems like its a great camera to start off with. It was definetly one of the better deals I had found.
