Have you tried Pixelator? It's $15 on the Mac App Store or from the Pixelator Web site. I bought it a few weeks ago and like it so far. I do have Photoshop Elements, plus Gimp. For most of what I need, Pixelator works very well. I will also use Corel's Aftershot Pro because I also have a laptop running Ubuntu Linux and it is available for both platforms. I only had to pay for Aftershot Pro once, but was able to download, install and use the single product key on both platforms. Not bad for $55. Aftershot Pro is basically Corel's answer to Lightroom and Aperture. On my Mac, I normally upload from my camera using ViewNX2. I can do a lot of basic post processing with that, such a cropping, exposure, contrast control, etc. If I really need to tweak the image, I was using Photoshop Elements 9 but have now switched to Pixelator. It does what i need. I am not a big post processing person. It has to be a really special photo before I spend hours and hours in post processing. That's just me. Your mileage may vary on that. :) Hope that helps. I realize you have gotten so many different suggestions. I didn't respond to your post until you said you were using a Mac. At times, the OS you are using will make a difference as to the products available. Whatever you choose, play around and select the product that does what you want and gives you the results you want. The bottom line is, just have fun!
