But there are other camera repair facilities - some better than others - that would be able to help. I'm not familiar with the Coolpix line. Can the lens be removed from the body? If so, clean the contacts. Look inside to see if the shutter or mirror is stuck. Does the battery compartment look clean, or are there signs of battery acid residue?
