Help deciding...!!! Please!

Hello, I'm new to the forum.
I've been taking photos for 2~3 years now; I had a D3000 and sold it after 3 months, then bought a D5000 and had that one until Dec 2012, now I got a D7000 with a Sigma 18-250mm and a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8.
So far I don't have any mayor complain about the pic quality (Sigma 18-250mm) but sometimes I can get sharpness that I want, and overall I think I will do better going back to Nikkor lenses (I sold my 18-55mm VR and 55-200mm VR to get the Sigma).
Now I'm trying to decide between getting the 16-85mm VR & 70-300mm VR or the 18-300mm VR; I've read a lot of reviews and I think I just made my decision process more difficult. for the price of the 18-300 I can buy a new 16-85 and a Nikon Refurbished 70-300, so price I thinks it's not going to be a huge factor between these.

What you guys think I should go for...? HELP!

Thanks in advance!

Welcome.. I am your neighbor to the North!

You have changed your cameras frequently... not neccesarily a bad thing... but you have told us nothing really about what and how you shoot??? Action, Portrait, Low Light, Wildlife?? You need to look at lens that will fit with what you normally shoot.. That info will help the majority of those who may respond be able to give more practical advice.

Hello Pat! thanks neighbor!

First time I changed it because after I got it, don't know, didn't like it... and then my D5000 because I wanted to upgrade to something better... I think I'll stay with this one (D7000) for a long time now.
I like to do landscape photography and action. I also do the casual, my kids playing or at the beach. For low light I usually use my 35mm and portrait is more family in holidays (nothing fancy...).
I'm not doing it professionally nor is my intention right now. You can take a look at my flickr account (Flickr: toshi_t2m's Photostream) and see what I usually photograph.
Hope this makes things clearer.... :)

Thanks!

Your questions seem to be similar to mine. How to cover from 18 to 300 mm and take fast pictures. While skill is important, the right tools also help. I think in this case, the right lenses.

From D3000 to D5000 you aren't going anywhere. But 7000 is good camera and I think it meets your needs now. you would need at least 2 lenses to cover that range. For budget, 3rd parties lens seem to be the only way out.

Hello Bukitimah,
I love my D7000 and I don't think I will need anything better for a long time; I have photography as a hobby, not trying to be a pro... :)
I went with the 18-300mm (Nikkor). With the discounts they had the other day I "jumped" and went with it; I have 2 lenses now: Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 and Nikkor 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6.
I'm now in the search for filters, I'm thinking of Hoya HD (UV and the CPL). Went to Dominican Republic this past weekend and took some shots, as soon as I get them out of the camera I'll post them here.

Thanks!

Yes Bukitimah,
That's why I want to get one... mostly to protect the lens and the CPL for the appropiate situations. This weekend I had a LOT of sunlight and missed the CPL filter big time.
