Hello everybody!

My name is Chris, and I love photography!
I am certainly not a professional, but I enjoy spending time learning my cameras, and photography in general. Hopefully one day someone will pay me for my work, but I'm not certainly not quitting my day job.
In 2011 I purchased my first DSLR, Nikon D3000 for $250. I fell in love with this camera and have been taking photos ever since.
Recently, i bit the bullet and upgraded to a D7100. Definitely will not be upgrading for a while! (unless i hit the lotto)
I have a few lenses, 35mm 1.8G, 18-140mm, and 70-300mm.

Attached is one of the first pictures I have taken with the new camera.

Thanks everyone for reading, and I look forward to being a part of the Nikon/Photography community!

Chris

From one Chris to another....welcome and I love my new D7100 also. I highly recommend David Busch's Guide to the D7100 and DSLR Photography. I'm half way through it and it teaches you a lot of things that I would have never known, but most importantly what your 7100 can do and how to set it up.

Welcome to Nikonites, Chris. I used to live on Staten Island...on Satterlee Street back in the early 70's. :)

Anyway, hope you enjoy it here. Have fun. :)

Hey Chris, welcome. What are your thoughts of the 7100 so far? Huge upgrade from the 3000. I recently made the jump from the 5000 and I couldn't be happier. Also, where are your favorite places to shoot in the city? I'm in Queens and I'm always looking for new shots!
