I would like to say I got lucky having a defective lens on the D5300. Yes I had to fork out more money but I have a more solid camera and better lens. One of the main features I wanted was GPS to tag locations on photos but the built-in GPS on the D5300 was horrible in my opinion. Took forever to pick up a signal, if at all. I'll be going with an aftermarket GPS on the D7100 which will work much better.I went on an outing to a local parks to try out the new camera. I had a lot of fun but I sure have a lot to learn.</blockquote>
