Hello everyone! My name is Jon and I am from Long Island, New York. I have always been into photography and spent a lot of time when I was very young with a camera in my hands thanks to my grandfather. I took some classes high school and even spent some time in dark rooms in the old days when 35mm film was all we had. Ever since I have left high school I have not been able to find the money or time to get back into it until now.
I recently booked a month long trip to Italy for this summer and decided it was time to get a good camera. I wanted to be able to document my trip and future vacations as well as get back into the art I enjoyed so much. So I went back to the beginning and starting learning everything all over again, seeing I forgot a lot of it. I also started researching cameras and what I was able to afford. After a few months of watching reviews and reading up on all the new gear that was out I finally made a decision. Which was hard due to the fact that the last camera I used, besides my cell phone, is now a vintage 35mm. So I purchased a Nikon D5300 and I am extremely happy with it! With it I got the Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR, 55-200 f/4.0-5.6G, 35mm f1.8g. In the near future I am going to purchase a really nice macro lens as well. I also got all the bells and whistles too like a nice tripod, lowepro 200aw backpack, extra battery, ND filters, shutter release remote, and the list goes on. I am so excited and can not wait to get to Italy and take some nice photos.
Thanks to everyone reading my introduction and if you have any good recommendations on anything I am all ears. Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures on here soon. Thanks again!
