I had a shot at doing some HDR out my window last night to see what effect the night time with street lights would produce. It was quite dark actually and the final quality of the photo was pretty impressive, but as you say not that much better than what I'm getting with a single shot. I also tried playing around with some post HDR processing settings, exposure compensation and other things I don't understand yet to make the photo look more fantasy world. Ultimately that's what I would like to achieve, stuff like this for example.
