I'd not taken too much notice of the latest models available for a good handful of months, from late 2011 through to mid/late 2012, just recently. The "just recently" I mentioned, was when I began hearing that a certain D600 which was about to be released. That immediately pricked up my ears up and I began reading reviews, reviews and even more reviews on the internet and it all became clear.. I had to have one,, a decision I made withing a week of hearing of its impending release and just 2 days before it was due to actually be released - mid Sept. Of course, I didn't expect it to be here for a good month or so, but another camera also caught my eye - the D7000, which also seemed to be a hot little performer. I couldn't really afford to splash out on a D800, although it too was a thought in mind but at the time I thought if I couldn't get a D600 within a very small amount of time, I might just have to think about the D7000. I could do a lot worse and afterall, I hadn't updated from the D300 I'd now had for 4 years, so it's about time make a move...
Anyway, a couple of days later on my way home I wanted to stop off at the camera shop but commuter traffic was just too heavy at that time of the day so I stayed in my place in the slow moving traffic and decided if I got home intime I'd phone the shop, after thinking about the D600 all day, and see just when they were due for this country. I made it home just a few minutes before the shops closing time and dialed their mumber... The last thing expected to hear was "Actually we got a couple in just a couple of hours ago". I said "Put one aside, I'll take it"... Now it's all history...
Just because I bought a D600, doesn't mean to say I have stopped keeping an eye on other models, including my next favourite model by default, the D7000. I still look at the D7000 as a camera to own and obviously well worth its weight...
