These are at the mouth of a canyon that I drive through many times every year. This is the first time I stopped and photographed them.

Hi Knawx,

I should not be doing this as I am a new junior member. When I see 96 views and no replies I feel obliged to at least try to give some sort of feedback.

I guess you shot a pano here, otherwise you cropped out of proportion. The D800 should not give you the kind of noise visible in this image and there is plenty of it in the upper right and upper left of the image.
Shooting an image like this is not easy as you have little control in composition. Symmetrical lines would have worked better, whatever you have on the left you should have on the right. The hill on the right that flattens out puts the image in imbalance. The blade of the turbine on the left that sticks out in the middle of nowhere needs to be removed. The structure on the right hand side with the trees and two turbines is,……….. can I call it distracting.

I know it is cheating but try cutting the image in half an then mirror it and you will beter understand what I mean. Another option is to try a completely different composition.

I like the idea of the silhouettes against the “red” sky, just try different options.

Regards,
Andre

I somewhat agree with Andre, going to give my newbie opinion and its worth about 2 cents. If possible I would think that maybe one windmill with sky behind it would convey the story better. Its kind of confusing to me. The colors look good and I get the composition.

Again, this is my opinion and I am still learning.
