I was in Bad Tolz, Augsburg, Heilbronn, Wurzberg, and Baumholder for a total of 14.6 years. I was in many other countries, which I still really cannot say, one was not Vietnam and I spent very little time in the United States except for training. I went through Jungle Training from Fort Polk, LA, Home of the Infantry Soldier Training for Vietnam TIGER LAND; to Fort Stewart, Georgia. I was a Jungle Expert. My AIT was in Signal Security, with a Crypto background, Commutations Security and Electronic Warfare were add on duties needed by the units I served in. I spent a lot of time with G-2 working with MI. BUT.......according to my DD 214 I spent my time in service at Fort Gordon, Georgia worked in an MOS I never really knew about, was promoted to E7 SFC, on the E8 Master Sergeants List. Go figure, VA goes batty every time they tried to find out about me. I had Hepatitis B and C and after several tests by VA as I became a Type II Diabetic on two different insulin’s, the Army finally admitted I did have Hepatitis B & C just could not tell them where I was at the time. They had to tell the VA of my injuries in 1969 where I woke up in Landstuhl Military Hospital in Germany.
