Grainy photos d3200

Hi,

I have a d3200 and have noticed recently that I'm getting quite grainy photos. I have noticed the problem on both 18-55 lens and 50 lens, I have Iso set at 100/200. Im just learning about the manual settings and have been using the aperture setting to shoot, but when I switch to auto the photos are no longer grainy and are crisp. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or how to rectify it. I have aperture settings usually quite low as I take a lot of portrait photography and like to focus on the subject.

Any help/ tips would be much appreciated!

A shot with EXIF data would help.
