I just saw some shots from Harry P Leu Gardens in Orlando that included nesting hummingbirds. I've also heard that the Snail Kite activity on Lake Kissimmee is nice, so Joe Overstreet might be a good choice. I was at the CBBR the week before last, and it was a bit quiet for CBBR, other than the cannibal gator, which has caused one of the trails to be closed. I haven't heard much out to St Marks Wildlife Refuge, south of Tallahassee, but it is almost on the way for you unless you're traveling down I-75. If you do travel I-75, think about stopping in Gainesville to visit the Florida Museum of Natural History ($9/person) to visit the butterfly rainforest. Cameras are allowed into the exhibit, but I don't know about tripods, and you can spend a long time in there shooting butterflies and moths. I visited two weeks ago, and plan on going again on this Friday.
I wish you safe travels, and many photographic subjects on your trip!!
