I have read on reviews that it is somewhat heavier but like any thing there is bad with the good. It has the option of twist lock legs and also toggle lock legs. Both have their merits but really how it feels is important in my opinion. I have just bought the Fotopro tripod for its travel applications along with back packing ( size and weight) something like this looks good for a second or maybe a main tripod to have as well. I guess there is another question as to how many tripods do most people have?</p></blockquote><p></p>
