Gallery Upload

What's the current situation with the gallery?
I remember it having some issues with the Flash uploader..
Now i can't see the Flash uploader at all.. has it been removed?

The standard uploader only allows 5 files at a time, and all of them manually
This isn't going to be an option for me cos it has been a while since i've uploaded to the gallery & i thought of doing it now, but not sure how?

I turned off the flash uploader because it was breaking in all but one browser. Unfortunately the people that make the gallery software are no longer updating it, so we're stuck with what it is until I can find a comparable alternative.

It would be interesting to see what other photo forums are using.
Obviously in a photography forum, the gallery & images are of highest importance & from what i've gathered in the past few months is that the guys developing this board (vbulletin) either have too much on their plate or this is not of very high priority to them.

Is there a chance you may change the entire platform on the site altogether?
Or maybe get some plugins (not sure if they even exist) that would bridge these gaps?

So far the gallery, image uploads in threads, and at times just general posts throw up bugs (like formatting etc)...

Changing platforms would be a nightmare. That and vbulletin is probably the most stable and safest one on the market.

Actually, the stock vbulletin "gallery" is terrible. You can't even call it a gallery. We use PhotoPost's vbGallery. They have a different product called Photopost Pro, but I really don't like the way it's put together. I believe Pentax Forums is using this, although it looks to be modified a lot.

There are some additional plugins that try to fill in some gaps as well, like the "my photos" feature, and the thing that resizes all the images then displays them inline/enlarges when you click on them.

I've changed platforms from vBulletin before, but I think in the case of this community it fits pretty well.
