Fstoppers Rates 5 different flashes

I use Godox (but not the V1), and some of their strobes have issues with overheating. But I haven't used my Godox flashes in conditions where overheating might occur such as HSS or shots taken in quick succession. Wish he would have addressed it though.

Interesting information. I bought all my lighting equipment a few years ago, and Phottix was a big name at the time. It was not so long ago, but it seems that in the meantime, Phottix has completely disappeared from the radar screens. The company could have keeled over, for all I know, even though I never found any information about what had happened to it. Anyway, my two main studio strobes are Phottix, so when I looked for cobra flashes to supplement them, I naturally bought two copies of the Mitros Plus from Phottix, as they have on board the radio receiver that allows them to be controlled by the Odin II controller. I also have a Nikon SB-900 which always worked a charm, but it needs a separate receiver that makes it bulkier and more cumbersome to set up. In the field, though, the Nikon flash can be controlled by the Phottix controller just fine, and if I were to buy one of those flashes that Fstoppers tested, I'd have to make sure it would be compatible with my Phottix gear.
I'm not on the market for the moment, though, as all I have works fine and doesn't get used nowadays as much as it did a few years ago. I bought Phottix because it was very good quality at reasonable prices, and nothing I own has broken down yet (fingers crossed). But I like to keep my eyes and ears open for new products!
