Jared decided at the last minute to go with a friend to go to a roof top and take some fireworks photos. He took a D4S, 24-70, 70-200 lens and a tripod. He was on a roof top and could not get any city landscape in the photos. Now for my situation..... A friend of mine and I decided at the last minute to go and take firework photos. We left late because it was supposed to have thunderstorms at the same time the fireworks were to be set off. We went and ended up on the top floor of the parking garage of the Beau Rivage Casino and could not get any city landscape in our pictures either. I took a D600, 24-70 lens a 70-200 lens and a tripod, sound familiar? Jared is the professional here and I am not, he put out a video before hand giving you 16 tips on how to shoot fireworks, I didn't, but I did watch several videos about shooting fireworks including his. I do not claim to be a professional photographer or have a following of thousands like he does but I did come back with some shots that I liked. The more I look at his actual images the less impressed I am becoming. He talks a good game but it seems his photos are just not coming up to the level of talk he gives out. Just my opinion! As a professional, you should be able to come back with pictures and NOT excuses. See his video here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHnf201jrD0
