For the Geeks amoung us

Duh, 42. Like we need Deep Thought for that?

So you are officially a geek then.

I used to travel all the time in the days before Pandora so I would get tired of all the radio stations (or lack of) So I started listening to books on tape. I listened to the first part of The hitchhikers guide and got hooked. Soon after I had the entire five part trilogy. I have no idea how many times I went through the entire series and enjoyed it each time. More recently I had a half hour drive to work and half hour back home. This was an excellent opportunity to listen to more scifi book on tape (actually USB Thumb drives) Made the 4am trip a lot more enjoyable.

Books on tape (or CD these days) rocks! I used to travel between CA and CO often and would stop by the library and pick up a couple books and the trip was like going to the movies. There were times I would stop and get gas and be in a hurry to get back to the book. I found that Tom Clancy novels are great to listen to when doing long hauls.

Clancy is what I "read" while driving back and forth to Cleveland.

When I was using public transport for a number of years commuting to work, I used to do the old fashioned reading of books - even missed my stop a few times when fully engrossed in a particularly interesting section.

Now I'm back in the driving seat, I'm back to poor ol' radio station broadcasts, but am looking into audio books :)

Catching public transport to and from work, I used to read novels. In the last few years though, I get really bad travel sickness when I read on the train. Since then I turned to audio books and haven't looked back. Currently I'm listening to the 4th book of A Song of Ice and Fire (the novels 'Game of Thrones' was based on).
