Hi guys
Just a little advice please I might be totally wrong in this but when I look through the view finder and I press the shutter release button on my D5100 to focus the focus point that is active lights up red.

So my question is that normal as I seem to think is used to show green but I am not sure now.

I have a small Canon SX 210 camera and that light the in focus points with a green colour.

So what colour should the D5100 show the active pocus point please?

Perfectly normal. It shows up red in my D200 and D40. Canon just uses a different colour scheme, that's all. Nothing to be concerned about. What you want green is the little green dot on the left when you look through your view finder. :)

Thanks guys I was just not sure I read the manual and it does not say what colour the active focus point was.

I guess I was getting mixed up with my point and shoot canon
