I just got my first DSLR, a D3100 with the 18-55 VR Lens, also picked up a 55-200 VR Lens today to go with it. These are some of my highlights so far, looking for advise on how to make future shots better!

Hi and welcome to the D3100 club!

I like the 3rd one that pot seems to frame the fish making it stand out better..

I took the liberty of playing with this nice image - I'll remove it if you don't like what I did with it.

Although I like the direction of your edit (old car infront of an old style backgroung so make the picture look like it was taken 45 years ago) there are a few things that stand out. It makes the car look like it was red instaed of the more unique original color, and its a 66 but that is minor.

I have never really messed with photo editing before, but I might give it a shot and see what I can do with this one.

I like the one with the bee approaching the flower. The only thing that'll really make you better is to shoot all the time. Read your manual, watch some tutorials online, shoot, read manual, tutorials, shoot, etc etc. I said this in another thread but I think it holds true: the more you shoot the better you'll get, the better you get the more fun you'll have, the more fun you have the more you'll want to shoot. It's a wonderfully vicious cycle. ;)

Here is a version a Pro friend of my dads done with the old style in mind.

I totally agree with the more you shoot the better you get, I am starting to understand the modes and settings a little more now than last week.

Looks like the station would have some interesting lighting at night. Might be an interesting shot at dusk with the car and station lit up.
