First wedding

Some good friends of mine asked me to shoot their wedding in short notice as their wedding photographer's father passed away earlier in the week and had to cancel the job. I have done some event photography but IM NOT a wedding photographer, but I still decided to help them out.

The pics were all taken on Nikon D5100 & D5000 bodies. Lenses used were the 35 1.8 / 55-300 / 70-300

I'm starting to get some editing done and thought I'd come here for some feedback. I had a lot of fun doing the wedding and hope they are impressed with some of the shots.

95% of the shots were taken with one off-camera flash shooting through an umbrella.

Nice pictures! For the first wedding you did great.....it does look like one of the shots is a little washed out though...a little bright...the 2nd and 3rd images were lacking some contrast....looks like you could have chosen a smaller aperature or adjusted the white balance. Overall, though, if you shot in raw, then you should be able to fix those problems in pp.

Thanks for the comments. The 2nd and 3rd pic is an issue that I caused by trying to over edit them. I agree that I should take another look at those pictures and tone it down. My friends seemed to like the over filtered look so I was trying to achieve that on a couple of the pics.

Good job, especially for it being the 1st wedding AND on short notice! The slightly askew black and white, and the shot of the bride laughing with... mom? Both excellent!
