First Test

I have a D700 & D300s that I use for work but wanted something to use when I teach my workshops and on vacation so decided to buy a D5100 at Adorama for $446.95 Nikon D5100 16.2 MP DX-Format Digital SLR Camera Body 25476 I just got it yeasterday so thought I would throw my Nikon 18-200mm VR on it and bring it to a workshop I was teaching today at the Phoenix Zoo. Many of my students own them and I have been suggesting it as well. So here is a shot from today. I'm happy with it.

Nice shot. Was thinking the same thing as a second, knock around DSLR, but with the D5100 requiring AF-S lenses for auto-focus I am on the fence. I've got a D90 that I got in trade with my mother in-law (love family) so it's a bit of a moot point, but the extra resolution makes it a better match for what I get from my D7000. Might rethink it at some point and unload the D90, but I'm in no hurry.

Nice shot. I've got a D7000 and I've been thinking of picking the 18-200mm up as a walk-around lens.

When I looked at the numbers I figured they must. Not a bad bang for the buck camera if you've got AF-S lenses sitting around.

I've got a D90 that I got in trade with my mother in-law.

For a Minute I thought you said "I got in trade FOR my mother in-law" and I thought that was a really good deal.
