First attempt at Macro

This was my first attempt at macro let me know how I did.

Could you give us some details of your set up,there is no exif data this makes helpful comments very difficult

well because I do not have a marco lens I was holding everything together till my reversal ring comes in.
both were done with a ED 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 G II

1/13

I am not sure what all is needed to evaluate the picture.

what EXIF data is needed?

the first one has no real subject and is either out of focus or has movement blur
the second may have worked but not from that angle. because macro has such a shallow depth of field you need to reduce foreground objects which will just be out of focus and distract from the shot. Background blur however can be very nice.
