But only engineers would have that information. With that, I am normally encouraged to keep printers up to date in firmware and technical support often will focus on that if I ask for help with a problem.As for Nikon, no way to know without asking their engineers. I do updates when I find I am behind. I check about 2-3 times a year when I think about it.FYI: there are also "developmental" firmware that don't get issued for users to apply, but sometimes it fixes some specific problem that 99.9% of the installed user base will not see.
