I cropped it a lot more on my computer and still amazed at the level detail that this camera captures. Here is the un-croped from above and an extreme crop of the same size. And this is with the kit 24-85 lens.
I usually have buyers remorse for a few days, but I wanted this for so long and just using it with the kit lens has blown me away. I haven't use my primary lenses yet. Just like everyone said, it's a fantastic camera.
enjoy the camera. pLease let us know if oil spots turn up and, also, if they don't turn up. If your camera store is correct, that would be very good indeed. We all wonder if Nikon has resolved the problem and, like you, hope Nikon has successfully dealt with the issue. Meanwhile, have fun with your camera.
Congrats. I absolutely love mine. I've got a trio of f1.8 primes and the 24-85mm spends almost all the time on that camera unless I need a certain level of bokeh for a specific shot. The camera is everything and a bag of chips for me. Hope it is for you too.
Just got my D600 2 days ago, love it. Took my first portrait last night. This was in flight heading westbound , the sun had set, 36000 ft, the dusk was the only light source & ISO 6400, 50mm f1.4 lens.
