My mentor I shoot with locally all the time taught me to use these filters but he never uses a holder. He hand holds them in front of the lens. Sometimes more than 1 at the time to get the look he is after. He is a master at shooting. I like the holder because my hands are arthritic so sometimes not so easy to hold and shoot. I also like using them hand held instead of always using a tripod. Hand holding the filters generally requires the camera to be tripod mounted.</p></blockquote><p></p>
