You have obviously have a very defined vision of what you want to see and view any deviation from that as someone else dictating to you or others.  I simply made a suggestion and recommendation which I fully expected feedback from everyone - I did not expect a thunder clap, waters parting and for jdeg to do as I command without consultation.  This isn't kindergarten (is it?) where we have to be so absolutely spoon fed to the point that I have to say "okie-dokie everyone, is what I said okay with the group on this fine day? Oh and please let James know by raising your hand if you want to go to the bathroom and then we can all play in the sandbox together?"  Sheesh.  It was entirely self-evident that any on-topic post in this thread with a contribution - including mine - is meant as a suggestion open for discussion by interested parties.  Why is that so difficult to follow?Ah - yes I have Helene.  Again (you are getting quite good at this) putting words into my mouth and reading way too much into what I said.  For the umpteenth time - I like frivolity to a certain degree (even a large degree sometimes).  However that "certain" amount of digression and frivolity you referred to is now essentially half of this thread!  I found that it became cumbersome to wade through - so what that I feel this way? It was merely a statement based on fact - it wasn't a decree or the declaration of jihad against frivolity.  For Pete's sake please stop lecturing to me about this point like some school marm (which - with all due respect) you come off sounding like in many of your posts - not just in this thread.Thank you Helene but that sounded a bit insincere considering the above.I am an administrator of another well known photography web site (i.e. I know something about photography and of how to run and moderate a website) and have slowly been dipping my toe over here just to see how this place operates.  Overall I find it quite a nice forum with a core of excellent members.  However - as can happen with smallish forums with even smaller hard-core members - a certain amount of group think has begun to take over.  I have a few things I am able to contribute to a photography forum so I would ask that in the future you give me the benefit of the doubt before assigning inaccurate meanings to my posts.  I don't appreciate the tone and tack you've taken when addressing me (please spare me the "I've misunderstood you" routine - I haven't).  My subsequent replies to you also have a certain tone however they are predicated on the tone you set.  I am quite happy to have a pleasant exchange with you or anyone here but I don't respond well to condescension and unfounded accusations. I'm sure this has no intention of sinking in with you so I will end my participation in this thread - do as you wish with the contest, weekly/daily selections and of course the enlightening reply I'm sure to receive from you - which I will most assuredly leave unanswered.
