Faststone Image Viewer & Tiff display issue (displaying 2 pages)

My image viewer has always been Faststone. I love being able to customize it to my needs, and also use it to view, tag and even batch rename my images.

I've recently started using Nikon's new RAW development program Capture NX-D. I export as Tiffs. However, when i view those Tiffs in Faststone it displays the main image first, but when i want to move onto the next image in the folder, instead of doing that it displays page 2 of the Tiff, which is just a small thumbnail or something.

This is ruining what i want to do because often i want to compare 2 images straight after each other.

Has anybody else had that experience or know of a solution?

Many thanks.

p.s if i remember correctly i think the same happens with Tiffs exported from ViewNX2 too (but not 100% sure)

I cannot duplicate that in Faststone if outputting TIF from Adobe Raw...

And I don't know about this problem at all, but there certainly is such a thing as a multipage TIF file. A little like a PDF, in that it is multiple images in one file, that you scroll through (but TIF does not have PDF text features). Multipage TIF is normally used for images of documents, and in document software, but it is not a common feature in photo editors, which mostly cannot show multipage.

Faststone does have multipage support, but I don't know why Nikon would?

You might open this TIF in Irfranview, which also has multipage TIF support. It has a menu: Options - Multipage Images, which has a Edit Multipage feature. My point is, it may at least help identify the file and the problem as a multipage TIF issue. I can't imagine why Nikon would output multipage though.

I think the problem is with Faststone and not the Nikom software. The Tiff's generated by Nikon do seem to have 2 separate aspects to them, the main image and then some kind of thumbnail. Faststone is displaying these as 2 separate pages (one after the other when i scroll through my images). The thumbnail is a much smaller version of the main image. This makes comparing images impossible when scrolling through them.
