Extreme temperatures!

Hi all,

just got back after a few days business trip in Oman. Holy Moly was it HOT! 45° Celcius or 113 Fahrenheit, and its not even June yet :distress:

Here a shot I made of the car thermometer...

Anyone have any more extreme climate temperatures, hot or cold, then post your thermometer shots

Summer before last, we were getting temps like that here in NE Oklahoma. I remember one day hitting 110 F with a heat index of 118 because of the humidity. There were a few days where even I had to admit that it really was TOO HOT to ride the motorcycle, and that in itself is CRAZY! The day I did try it (109), I was coming out of the downtown area on the freeway, and all I could hear in my head was AC/DC's song "Highway to Hell". ;)

wow, then you are tougher than I am, my motorcycle does not see the light of day over 90 degrees. Favourite highway songs would have to be let the music do the talking by aerosmith and dallas 1pm saxon.

if you are a rocker I have a tip. in latvia they have a fantastic radio station based in RIGA which blasts away in most cars on the road. it also can be heard online under this site Radio SWH Rock

it is a no bull)/$t classic rock radio station. enjoy.

It's around 90F here in Tn now. As long as it keeps steady it's fine. Wild swings in temperature in a short period of time spells tornados. Not good.
Just ask Pretzel. They have the super cell tornados where he lives

the older generation british working colleagues I have would agree to disagree. They all prefer imperial, because with metric system there are "too many lines on the ruler" ;)

Haha, I'll consider that as I play around with my Nikkor 2.75591in x 7.87402in f2.8G VRII lens

Hasn't been nearly that extreme here in Virginia, but has been in the 90s with relatively high humidity.
What an inconvenient time for our HVAC system to take a dump. Took some time to scrape up the money (including all of my secret NAS stash) but a new system will be installed on Saturday.

Here in Delhi, India the temperatures are going up. Was 46 degree a couple of days ago. Seems that today is much cooler - only 43. Without AC it is touching 34 in the room as I type the post.

The only saving grace is thet the D3300 seems to be working perfectly in this heat, and the batteries are holding up. Lead acid batteries used in cars and UPS derate pretty fast in this heat. The lithium batteries seem to be much better.

No pics of it... but here in Southern California it's been 90-100 everyday for the past 10 days! I got robbed out of my winter and now my spring... Nothing but summer year round here...
