Extra Money for ED lenses with special glass

Any lens that has ED option tend to me lot more expensive compared to non-ED models. My question is, whether is it worth spending this extra money on ED model ?

The level of photography that most of us our at probably not. That is just my opinion. Look into ED glass and what it was made for and then decide. Google is your friend sometimes.

Most of the time in good light with a good exposure you may wonder why you paid the extra,i have always thought a lens with special glass or coatings stands a chance of performing better when conditions are against you.but i could be wrong with my none technical answer.
