W WayneF Senior Member May 21, 2016 #3 I use this inexpensive one: Polsen OLM-10 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone OLM-10 B&H It has been very satisfactory with Nikon DSLR. B Blade Canyon Senior Member May 22, 2016 #4 You might be surprised how good a recording you can get on your phone, be it Apple or Samsung. I shot a video using three different microphones, including a phone sitting on the table in front of the subject, and that was the best audio.
