Elements 10 Watermark?

I'm trying to create a simple watermark that I can save and use
as a layer or brush or ??? put it on a photo resize and such without
having to recreate it each time I need it.
I tried saving a brush but it seems to act strange when I try to use it.
(When I click to put it on the photo it creates a new layer and doesn't leave the text as just text. Not sure how to explain it.)

I got the idea from here :
A Watermark Brush is Easy to Make with Photoshop Elements
But its not working the same way for some reason.
How do you guys that use Elements 10 go about doing this?

I use a layer and save on the desktop as a PSD then when I want to use it place it on the image and adjust size and opacity..See below...

I'm with Alan on this one - far easy just to have a saved .psd file which you import your signature/watermark layer in from.

My advice would be, to have this watermark as a pretty big size (4000x400). At least when you use it, it won't distort if you need to expand it, and reducing won't normally have much distortion :)

If you can type on a separate layer in Elements, I'd just do it for every shot you want to put on the web. This would give you the opportunity to have the color you want and then blend it to match the photo you want to sign.

Here is how I do it in 11. I think this is in 10 as well. Click File-Process Multiple Files. A box will open where you will first choose a folder for your files to go ( mine is called Watermarks). Under labels tab choose the dropdown for watermarks. Then fill in all the info for your watermark, text, font, size, color etc. You can also choose how you want the files names as it saves a copy and does not change the original. It will remember everything you put in but you can change it whenever you want.

Hope this helps. As always there are many ways to do the same thing.

I just played with it for a few. What I did was create a new blank file, put the text in it and saved it as a layer on my desktop as suggested. Then with the file open I opened a photo and dragged the text layer on it. This copied the layer to the photo and I was able to change the color, opacity, size and anything else that is adjustable in any givin layer.
This seems to be simple enough for editing one photo at a time. It's also nice because
you can adjust it and customize to each photo.

Alen,
I did see what your talking about but I haven't figured out a one size fits all size and color and text and ??? yet. (I'm still learning Elements) It would probably be a lot easier to do it that way when you have a folder full of photos that are edited and need a watermark put on them.?:indecisiveness: I plan to get know that option soon because I'm sure there's more to it than what I was able to do.

Thanks for all the help, if there's anything else anyone wants to throw out there I'd be glad to try it.
