This is a photograph I took one early winter morning in Johannesburg. It was in a taxi rank in downtown Johannesburg. Composition-wise, my intent was to include a typical Johannesburg urban sight, i.e, the red taxi, blended in the buildings with the reflection in a sort of abstract way. I liked the red in the foreground and the blue in the background. It makes a good color contrast.
If you can see, the top 'e' sign also says 'Be Free'. I wanted to include that, as a reminder of the free society South Africa sought after so many years.
The dustbin on the right is actually intentional, as this is a pretty dirty place!!!
