DT's Interntational Travel Adventures.

Although the following are off the cuff happy snaps, I hope I will capture in some small way the beauty of cultural diversity. I thought I'd kick this off with some shots from one of my 2 favorite cities, Buenos Aires(the other being Tokyo). I have been to BA on 6-7 occasions and will be back in 2014. One thing I hope to capture on our next visit is the sense of nostalgia that pervades BA. No other city in my experience has one foot set squarely in the past, think 1930's Europe, and one in the present looking forward and hoping for a brighter future than BA. Argentina as a whole is considered by the likes of Lonely Planet Guide and Nat Geo as having the greatest diversity of landscapes on planet earth after Russia. I will explore this in future posts.

Terrific shots, but I particularly love this guy for some "odd" reason. :)

Cheers BDH. I can't hope to match your technical skills, your Halloween shot was off the hook, but I hope to capture an atmosphere/mood/moment. One thing I haven't captured in BA and I think you can picture this in your minds eye is this.....that Gentleman. I've seen him and he exists in one body or another. He's in his mid to late 70's, he loved his wife but she has long since passed away. He wear's an immaculately pressed suit and sips on the shortest of short black while reading the morning paper. A picture of both dignity and melancholy. Sorry about the poor quality of the shot but this is the type of place he can be found in BA.

Simple but needs a photographer to see it.well spotted
Thanks Mike but for the best spotting I give credit to the lady who walks beside me(and most often about 10 meters ahead). My partner Nicole. A ladies vision is unique and in many ways it's a shame that this forum(not to say that it is set up this way) is dominated by men.

I am humbled by your words. That shot was as much a happy accident as anything else - I was trying various textures to the B&W photo to try and give it some additional feel and I forgot to desaturate one before applying and "boom", faux flames. There's some skill there, but also a lot of blind squirrel with just enough smell to find a nut.

There are really some superb shots here, well composed and with just the right amount of post processing. You don't need to spend hours on a shot when the subject is right.

Morning Over Osaka. This one was taken through our double glazed hotel room window so fairly pleased with the result.
