Echoing what everyone said about FX vs. DX. A great lens, but I opted for the 16-35mm f/4 for four reasons, 1) I can stick a filter on the front of it (for front element protection and ND's for long exposures), 2) at those focal lengths the 1-stop doesn't by me much of anything in terms of the shallow end of DoF, and I have no beef with how my D600 and D800 operate at high ISO when I might want it inside, 3) comparisons of IQ between the two were so close that it is really picking nits when you call one "better" than the other, at least in my humble estimation, and 4) I saved enough to get a 15mm Fisheye and some other stuff for the bag. Again, a great lens, and it would be cool to have for sure, but it's not justifiable or even necessary for me. But would you mind if I ask you to borrow it some day? ;)
