Do you have a ritual before setting off

Every time i arrive at the lake and before setting off walking i take this picture,just to make sure the camera is working OK.

Cleaning, charging, and checking I have the necessary supplies for where I am going and what I am doing. I have a bad habit of leaving the second battery at home and only have a partial charge on me, or having the lens cleaner, but not clothes.

Remember to check the camera for a SD card.

Twice now I turned on the J1 to be greeted with the message, "no SD card"

Just glad the D7100 has two cards,

As the Batteries do last for a while, I sometimes forget to check them before I go out.

While writing this, I've just had an idea, leave a note in the camera bag to check for SD card and batteries :)

I forgot my SD plenty of times too which is about as annoying as it can get.

I solved it by using an extra one. The moment I take one out of the cam, I plug in the extra and after uploading, put the other in my wallet. That way I always have one SD card on me and the last series of shots backed up on that card until I swap it again.
