Do we have any GAMERS in the house?

Just wondering:)
I love playing video games... had given up on it (sort of) when i got my first camera last year, but my gaming blood pushed me to pull my PS3 out to restart the gaming scene :)

I used to play on the PC & have played on it from the days of Wolf 3D, Dangerous Dave & Prince of Persia.
I have a PSP for gaming on the go (PSP 1000).
And since 2008 have had the PS3 as my weapon of choice.

So! What do you game on?
What games do you like? I love FPSs, RPGs & Strategy and most genres except Sports & Racing games ;)
At the moment am playing Bioshock Infinite on the PS3

I just thought about selling my PS3... I never use it.

Every so often I do play StarCraft HoT. But just casually.

Used to LOVE the C&C Red Alert series, but these days I casually play around on the family PS3 (Mostly Black OPS 2) and my iPhone. Nothing too serious.

Before the PS3 was the Wii, but it's gathering dust now. Need to dig out the old sports games disk and see if I still "got it". LOL

Wii Bowling and Baseball. Thats about as far as my skill can handle.
Wolf 3D just got way to frustrating and weird the few times I tried playing it.
I'll keep playing with my Nikon instead.

<--- Gamer

I'm part of the gamer generation. Grew up with Atari, then Nintendo, Sega, and Playstation and Xbox. I used to be into some of those FPS games (Call of Duty especially) but not for a long time. My boys are very into Minecraft. I don't play console games anymore.

I've been an avid MMO gamer for the last 12 years: Earth & Beyond (2001) was my first online game. Everquest 2, World of Warcraft, Star Wars Galaxies, Eve Online, City of Heroes...name your game and I've probably played it. Currently, I play Star Wars the Old Republic. Generally, I don't play much during the summer months because I'm so busy, but this time of year I play a lot more.

Sigh ...

Dotted around the house are an XBox 360, a Kinect, an original XBox, a Playstation, a PS Vita. a PSP, two iPod Touchs, two iPads and an iPad Air. Unfortunately I don't seem able to shed as I upgrade! I had two very happy boys on Sunday night when I released the two iPads into the wild. I need to work out how to sell this sh!t on Ebay - I have loads of it.

With all that, my youngest (11) in besotted with Minecraft and my oldest (12) with Assassin's Creed IV. I'm too terrified to play anything as I get hammered by the pair of them!

On a serious note, though, I have found (not just with my boys) that things like playing on Xbox Live (with headset) makes children part of the Gang at school.

Cool! I think my all time favorite is age of empires on the pc and mass effect on the ps3. God of war on the psp :)
But there are tons of other games that are a super close second :)

I spent a ton of time playing Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, was disappointed with TES IV: Oblivion (never really played it much) but I recently acquired a copy of Skryim and am liking it much more. Morrowind will forever be my favorite, though. There's just something special about that game. Yes, I know I'm a little behind the power curve having just gotten Skyrim, but I play on a PC so I like to let the modding community work out the bugs and such before jumping in with both feet.

Came to the game thing late, but pretty much cut my teeth on Commander Keen, then Wolfenstein 3d, Doom, ROTT (the original). Then when my kids were very young didn't do too much except for Simcity and Age of Empires for a long time. When my son was a teenager we'd play battlefield games against each other on our home network.

Myst Uru is an wonderful (and free) multilayer world to immerse yourself into. Like other games like Portal, but Fallout 3/NV really has me right now and waiting for Fallout 4.

Used to play TES games on the PC back in the day, we also have Skyrim for the PS3, and it's a blast when I remember it's there!

Given that Bethesa is behind Fallout 3/NV and Oblivion, Elder Scrolls and Skryim it's been very tempting to go with one of those three, especially since Fallout 4 (or whatever they end up calling it) is at least a year out.

Like some of us, I tend to play more in the colder months. I have had or played every system out there since Atari 2400. Spent a lot of years playing Sega Mortal Kombat. I also played Tanurus for many years also till Sony took the servers down. Those of you who don't know what Tanurus was, it was a 3D multiplayeron line Tank game from somewhere around 1997 or so. I play around with Xbox 360 and the Call of Duty "franchise" with my step children but they tend to "gank" me all the time and I get frustrated with them. Being "old school" and cutting my teeth on a NES pad controller the 360 controller feels alien to me, and I find myself thinking it a NES controller in my hand and still try to work it like one. "Old" habits ARE hard to break.

I still do play World of Warcraft but have slowed down with that as I near "capping" out in the game. I played Everquest till I capped out in that then lost interest in it.
