Therefore, I thought you could use any 5V chargingblock and micro-usb cable to charge it, alleviating the annoying problem oflosing the specific charging device required to charge that battery (like I didwith my last waterproof camera). </span></span></span></p><p></p><p> </p><p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'"><span style="font-size: 10px"><span style="color: #000000">However, I see the manual includes the dire warning belowsaying "do not, under any circumstances, use another make or model of ACadapter", and "do not use a commercially available USB-AC adapter ora battery charger for a mobile phone". WHAT? Is that just a BS warningthey put on every device they manufacture or is it a real concern? </span></span></span></p><p></p><p> </p><p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'"><span style="font-size: 10px"><span style="color: #000000">The Nikon charger is 5V and 1.0 Amps.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'"><span style="font-size: 10px"><span style="color: #000000">I gather a computer USB port can deliver anywhere between0.1-0.9 Amps.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'"><span style="font-size: 10px"><span style="color: #000000">A decent generic charger is typically 5V and 2.0 Amps. </span></span></span></p><p> </p><p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'"><span style="font-size: 10px"><span style="color: #000000">My question is: is the warning actually valid?
