Default sorting of content by most recent?

Just wondering... when I enter into a sub-forum like, Post Your Black and White Photos!!, the display defaults to oldest entries first, and not to the most recent. So, I click on the highest page number to get to recent entries. Seems like an awkward way of doing things. I didn't see any setting under my profile to set displaying most recent as default. Advice? Thanks.

You can use Jump to new in the right hand corner above the first post on the page. I'm not sure if there is an option to display the newest posts first.

Clicking the page number takes you to the first post of the last page, clicking the title takes you to the first post of first page page.

Clicking the date take you to the latest post.

Marilynne: as an example, when I go to the Architecture forum... there is no Jump to New located on the page anywhere.

So, there is no default setting to always display most recent first? It is a multi-clic process to ascertain the last page of entries, and begin seeing what's of interest, or searching for a clic-tab to jump to most recent.. if the tab is present. Honestly, the lack of consistency is a bit bewildering.

Please don't blast me, but NikonCafe appears to be using the exact same forum software, but the sorting of entries within Forums and their sub-content always displays most recent first. It's a clean and consistent presentation.

I was looking at the ZenForo website. There are some add-ons that you can purchase. That may be one of them. I'll ask Cindy to check with John.

As Needa posted, it's a single click if you click on the date listed in the far right hand column. That will take you directly to the latest post for that thread.

This forum has always done that with threads that were started on the previous forum's old software. I think it's one of the glitches that John referenced – not everything from the old forum will work perfectly over on this one. I will reach out to him, but I kind of doubt there's anything he can do. However, if there is a problem with threads started on this newer forum, then that's probably something he can fix.
