Really ups the close focus distance. I was down to a very tiny sub 6 inches with the 55-200. Close focus distance for this lens is normally 1.1 meters (just over 43 inches!).Build quality is plastic. All plastic but the lens. And the lens caps are just push ons. Comes with a plastic box for safe keeping, no lens sock. But really for the price (sub $80) it seems to be a fairly good investment into macro. Perfect for testing the waters. No problems with Auto Focus that I could tell. It did not even seem to slow the D90 down a bit. My shots in the previous posts were done no less than f18 and ISO800! On board flash was NOT fired but the use of a tripod was needed for most photos. Just did a quick check! The dime photo was <a href="mailto:200mm@f32">200mm@f32</a>, ISO800, 1/100th.The 50mm 1.8D was at <a href="mailto:90mm@f18">90mm@f18</a>, ISO800, 1/4 sec. Both photos taken with the 55-200 and Raynox DCR-250. All in all I am very pleased with my initial results!!</blockquote>
