I am facing weird issue in my Nikon D5300 where whenever I am removing battery, Date/Time is getting reset and I have to manually set it again.
Can you please let me know what is the issue here and how it can be rectified.
Thanks in Advance.
There is an internal battery inside the body. Did the battery to your D5300 ever discharge completely for a long period of time? If so, then the internal battery might be so completely discharged that it cannot hold a charge any longer. You might want to search online to see if the internal battery can be replaced.
Yes the battery was completely discharged as i was out of station for 2 months.
Now once i am back i switched on the camera and found this issue.
I will try this one out and will update you tomorrow.
Glad it worked for you. I don't know what type of rechargeable battery is inside the body, but if it is a lithium ion battery, just know those aren't as forgiving as nickel hydride batteries. Some lithium ion batteries like the ones Godox uses cannot be restarted once they are completely depleted and require being taken apart to jump start them. From what I've read, when Nikon bodies experience complete failure of their internal batteries, the bodies have to be opened up and the battery replaced.
I didn't used camera last 3 months
Now every time need to reset time, i tried to place main battery 2 days, still the same issue
