Just curious if someone has upgraded from D5X00 to the D7500 and what your thoughts are compared to the 5x00.
I just pulled the trigger after seeing adorama had the 7500(refurb) $130 more than the 7200(refurb), $679 vs $549. I've heard all the negativity between d7200 vs d7500, how its not a d500 and its more of a upgrade from the d5x00 (that applies to me). I have a D800 that has dual slots and a battery grip so I am not concerned about that with the DX body. What draws me to this camera over my 5300 is I have major anxiety with taking it out camping and God forbid, getting caught in bad weather. But I also desire a light(ish) camera to take with me to the mountains for snowboarding season. Water resistance was more important to me than lack of grip or second card. I also have several D lenses that work on the D800 but were manual focus only on the 5300. I'm 6'-5" and my meat hooks make the 5300 look tiny and feel a bit like a toy. I get good pics from it with the 18-140 but I leave it at home alot for fear of rain or dust and have been taking my d800 with me every day which might be asking for trouble due to oopses and bumps. My plan is to use the 800 for work and the 7500 for play. I cant wait to get it in my hands to see how it feels to me, but curious what the opinion is on this one since its been out a while now.
